Baby, Baby, Baby

With a new baby on the way, I was excited to make a lot of things.  Between all the time I have to wait for baby and the excitement of my first little one, I was definitely in the crafting mood.  Here's a few things that I made for the nursery...

Fabric Canvas Animals.
I cut the shapes out with my Silhouette - I used Lori Whitlock's shapes.

Baby Bumpers!
They're hard to see here, but I had the animal fabric (the inspiration for my nursery) on one side, and then the leftover fabric from the fabric canvases on the other side.  I borrowed my friend's baby bumpers and copied her pattern.

Stuffed elephant!
It's a little funny shaped, but it is supposed to be an elephant.    I used the pattern found here:

The finished product!

Shower Curtain

This project has been in the works for months. I bought a clear curtain lining when we moved in, intending to make a shower curtain. Time got away from me and we had a lot of friends and family come to visit. I'm sad to say they showered with a clear shower curtain liner and no shower curtain. :(

But it's fixed now!

I used this inspiration/tutorial and made my own shower curtain!

So now everyone should come visit. Showers are guaranteed to be better!

Boxwood Topiary

I love these things. They're so adorable. And expensive. And then I found one I loved...but it wasn't the right size.

Solution?

Make my own, thank you very much.

I used this tutorial to figure it out.

Here is my final product. I think I like it best because I made it. Mine. Ownership baby.

I love it.

Pillow Series

So last year my nieces redecorated their bedroom, and around that time my niece turned 13. So, I made one pillow. Then I made another pillow. Now there are 6 kids down and 2 to go.

They've been so much fun to make...

I like them all in different ways. They each definitely match the personality of the person I gave them to.

I like this one especially because I used my silhouette to cut out the letters and it was so easy!

And on that note, THE SILHOUETTE CAN CUT OUT FABRIC!!!! Just when I thought it couldn't get any cooler, it did! If you're thinking about getting one, do it. It is so worth it. I use mine a few days a week for just this and that. And it's so fun. And the machine goes on sale regularly - just watch it. The good deals are out there. My husband found mine on ebay. so sweet!

Anywho, making pillows have been fun. Give it a try, it's so easy!

Love is In the Air

I was inspired by this so I came up with this:

Then I saw this idea and just couldn't resist making my own:

Happy Valentine's Day!
